Jan. 10th, 2004 - Sundance Airport

LAFA members have recently enjoyed the flying company of pilots from Sundance Airport (5 Miles Southwest of the Labelle VOR 110.4).  These guys are a group of flying enthusiasts who get together and... fly, fly & fly.  Some of them joined us at the first Everglades City Pancake Breakfast, and one of them (Boone) actually flew down to us first in order to cross over with us!  They are hard-core flying nuts, and very much our kind of people!

LAFA has yet to go to one of the Sundance flying events because since we heard of them, all their events have coincided with our own, but we certainly hope to meet them on their home ground in the very near future.

The photos on this page were taken by Boone at their January Girocopter fly-in.

Jim Hubbs, president of Flying Fun, Inc. runs a full service Ultralight & Giro FBO at Sundance and he even lives on the airfield which has a 3600 foot grass airstrip with no obstructions.

Services include Fuel, Rotax engine service and repairs, flight instruction by USUA certified BFI instructors, and open air and covered tie-downs.

If you are interested in visiting Sundance, you can find them at:
